When Kankuro convinced Sasori of what true art really was and Deidara was screaming, “Sasori, don’t listen to him! True art is a bang! A transient blast!” he was trying to prevent Sasori’s soul from being at peace. 

That’s why he was screaming about what ‘true art’ was.  
Deidara didn’t want to lose his partner to death once again.
